Exciting Changes A Comin To MPJ
Change is inevitable. Some changes are good; others not so good. Change is coming to Marvia’s Panama Journal (MPJ). Soon.
For almost 3 years I’ve been Blogging here at Marvia’s Panama Journal about my missional work and adventurous experiences in Panama. This Blog came about as a way of sharing my experiences with friends and family. I had no idea then, that the Blog would reach so many more persons, and develop its own little following. Thank you! Logic suggests that nobody changes a good thing, doesn’t it? Well had I followed logic, I would never have ended up in Panama in the first place and I would not have started this Blog either. So changes do take place from time to time that bring about even better life experiences.
So about the changes coming to MPJ….
First of all the good news. By May 2009, we will be launching the First Isthmian Baptist Church’s website; which is now under construction. This is part of our preparation for celebrating the church’s 100th Anniversary in 2010. Of course, as we prepare for that grand event, the website will give regular updates along with the usual fare of exciting things at First Isthmian. I’m currently involved in that building process along with the many other duties and this has reduced the time I’ve had for personal Blogging.
That means Marvia’s Panama Journal has been affected and I’ve been seeking the best solution. So It is with great regrets that I have to tell you that MPJ is on its last stretch. Following this post, will come a series of posts to make further announcements. Soon you’ll be getting all the Panama mission adventure stories directly from the church’s website.
These changes do not in anyway mean that I’ll be hanging up my Blogging hat. No Maam. Not at all. I’m well and truly hooked. Soon, I’ll point you to my new space where I’ll share my numerous ramblings. In the meantime, MPJ continues to provide some very useful articles that have grown popular with the general public. The feedback I’ve gotten from persons has been heartwarming. It has been a pleasure to know that I add to the value of the web and not just put up…..ummm, words for words sake.
So watch this purple space and stay in touch.
One Love!
Marvia

A church website is a big job, hope you receive all the support you’ll need. Will the “Panama mission adventure stories” section of the church website have a purple background?

Deri,
Good to see you as usual.
Sorry but the church’s website will not be purplized at all:-)
Yes my dear it is a huge task which is why have given ourselves until May 2009. We’ll also be assigning someone to manage the site. I won’t be taking that one on at all. Too many adventures to pursue:-)
I’ll make some noise in all the places I know you hang out to keep you posted.
Until,
Marvia
