		<description>i am 42 yrs old and a pure Filipina.roasted corn as coffee substitute was long before used by many Filipinos specially in the hinterlands and even my mother used to make that kind of beverage...in a very basic way...she just roast ground corn in a pan until it turns black then have it boiled for at least 10mins then strain it..then she poured it to our mugs and add a lil bit of sugar...and presto! everyone in the house is enjoying this healthy beverage....</description>

		<description>I am from the Philippines and my  Mom also  roasted ground corn for coffee although we have our own coffee tree and cocoa tree in our backyard. I  like it very  much  especially the AROMA., however we don&#039;t add coconut milk.</description>

Strictly speaking the beverage we know of as coffee can only come from the beans of the same name. Same goes for tea, which are from the steeped leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant.

I, myself, have the same quandary. You want people to know more about a coffee-substitute but you can&#039;t help but tell them that it&#039;s something like coffee (or tea).

Surprisingly, we have the same kind of drink here in the Philippines. I&#039;d like to try this spiced recipe sometime.
