Returning To 40 Step Lenten Meditations

Please forgive me for breaking our 40 Steps Lenten Meditations. Being gone for 2 weeks wreaked havoc on my posting schedule. I had hoped to auto-post all while I was gone but was unable to do so. I had to complete my preparations to teach the Bible Studies during the JBU’s 158th General Assembly. You will hear more about those Bible Studies at a later date.

But this is real life, you set out to accomplish one thing and run into obstacles. What do you do then?

Nope. Quitting is not my style. Afterall, what would be the point of these Lenten Steps if we should quit half-way through?

So over the next couple of days I will complete all the reflections until we are updated and on the roll again.

I know Derri, the leading "commenter" on this Blog was happy for the break. Right Derri?

It was great to see some of you at the Assembly Derri. You too Duane (Rootzpoet), Bjorn of Bahamas, and Dave. It’s been great talking online, even better seeing you.

Let me send out some love to my colleague Rev. Harris Cunningham who confessed that he is one of my readers who ‘lurks’ around saying nothing. Thanks for the encouragement and it was great to see you Harris. Keep on enjoying the Journal and am looking forward to your comment ‘wen yuh ready.’

To all my colleagues, friends, mission partners, fellow Bloggers in Jamaica - it was truly wonderful to see you.

Heather…I had hoped to meet you. Where were you?

Thanks guys, for your kind words and you have all inspired some great post ideas. Now which of you wants to be guest author?  All that work and no volunteers??

Meet you all at the next Lenten Step,

Marvia

Yeah i know we got like 40 steps left…

Can i tell you ppl how great the bible studies at assembly were? A going tell yuh! They were great! One problem though, they were too short. (Not Marvia fault though…)
It was great seeing some of you at assembly too, outside of the bible study.

Though its hard to admit, im curious to see what the other 20 steps of lent have in store for us. So sad to see you leave Ja but welcome back to this ’space’.

Bring on the other 20 steps we’re ready! (to read them at least:-D )

    Dear Marvia

Unfortunately was not able to be there as I am still in Africa, but I am really quite taken with the description of my pastor Stephen Jennings. You hit the nail on the head about his ability to marriage a keen intellectual insight with a love of the word. I have been greatly blessed by his skills as a teacher of the word second to none. Your photography was marvellous and I hope that we will meet someday soon. Keep going and all the very best . The blog is so very important and a great way of sharing faith .I have had an email exchange with Rev. Karl Johnson about the state of the JBU website and I hope that it will become active and regularly updated soon as it is a vital link for us .

    Thanks Derri,
I trust God to continue to accomplish what God wills through those studies. I know that I was deeply challenged during the preparation. Yes the time was really too short. However, Some of my prepared materials will be made available through the JBU for churches to continue their studies at their ow pace.

You will hear more about the expanded version later.

    Heather!
So sorry that you missed the Assembly. You and Benin are in my prayers especially when I read the news.

Thanks for leaving a word about Rev. Stephen. We are praying for him.

I too hope that the JBU website will get some attention soon. It is a vital link.

    Best wishes,
    Marvia
