Welcoming My Blog Friends To Panama

My Blog has helped me to make some great friends across the world. And no I’m not talking about all the “friends” me meet at Social Networks. I’m going beyond that to say I have connected in a real way with friends I have met through this Blog. What gets me really excited though is a chance to meet my new friends in person.

I got such an opportunity once again, when Felicia “Cia” of Kinky Awakenings visited us at First Isthmian Baptist in Colon, on Sunday July 13th.  I was quite thrilled when she accepted my invitation to visit our church. Man, I was definitely impressed when she told me she was going to drive over 3 hours from where she was for this visit. All of you who remember what I said about Panama Driving will know she is a woman of no small heart!

Anyway, I had to show off in church yesterday and I’ll show off some more here as well. I gave her directions from where she was to Colon. I had never been to that area before but when I checked the map it was close to a certain place that has a lot of mangoes. Listen, there is no way I could miss the route to a mango tree or an orchard. So like rat and cheese, I used my Mango GPRS system to guide her to our church. She found it.

First Isthmian always gets excited when we have visitors. They were ready to adopt Cia and are already planning to lure her over to Colon.  She shared the story of her visit with others in her private Blog. So sorry that you won’t be able to see that. I did. And no I am not showing off. Promise.

Let me also mention that I welcomed Ashley in May. Ashley is a Ph.D student at Emory University who came to the Artists Colony at Portobello, Colon. She spent some days with us and attended the Interfaith Service and other Etnia Negra celebrations.

I know one more regular reader will be here in a couple weeks. You’ll hear more about it then.

So what are you waiting for? Plan your trip and let me know. I’ll be only too happy to welcome you as well. Of course, if there is anything our congregation or I can do to help, just let us know.

Peace,
Marvia

  1. Greetings,
It was my pleasure visiting FIBC! I apologize but I had to make my new blog private.

    Until we meet again.

    Peace

Haven’t been back to Panama in 10 years, but I plan to return sooner rather than later. Although I don’t go to church, I wouldn’t mind stopping by for a visit.

  5. Marvia says:

    Welcome PH,
    Thanks for stopping by.

A visit to Panama is definitely overdue!

Please squeeze us into your visit. The physical address of the church, plus ways you may personally contact me are located on the About page of my Blog.

I’m already looking forward to meeting you:-)

    Peace,
    Marvia
