Marvia’s Panama Journal Gets Facelift
Marvia’s Panama Journal has a new look.
Don’t you just love it? I have been saying “wow” all evening and sitting here staring at it with a silly grin on my face. Finally, I speak and I’m still going “wow”.
Well I suspect you figured it out — I LOVE my new Wordpress theme. This theme “Purple Panama” is the marvellous creation of my good friend Yannick Lyn Fatt. Yannick is the son of my dearest friends Denise & Neville whom some of you know. He is a student at University of the West Indies (UWI).
Ahem! (clearing my throat importantly to tell you this part). Ladies and Gentlemen, just so you all know, this is Yannick’s first complete Wordpress Theme and it is NOT available for release to ‘John Public’ (that’s you) at this time. You read that right. Ok, ok…it will be available sometime in the FAR future, but right now…It- is - ALL - mine! Well, I think I’ll go stare at it some more.
In the meantime, you can learn more about Yannick’s work at his site. Yan is not the type to blow his own trumpet so I’ll blow it for him and say his work is great. He’s just going to die when I tell you that when I got my first laptop in 1999 while he was still in high school, he was my Internet Tutor and Guardian Angel.
He has been a quiet inspiration, and is very supportive of my forays into unknown ‘web’ waters. His deep Christian humility and patience no doubt accounts for his patience with me when I jump feet first into Website building stuff I have no formal training in, but want to experiment with any way. When I get stuck, I simply holler “Yannick”!!
I’m not sure if he recalls but he was the first to introduce me to a Blog some years ago when he started blogging. I was of course stupefied by this ‘thing’ called a Blog and look at where I am today! Yes, I agree - a lot more ‘choopid’ but blogging anyway. And now, “wow”
I’m truly proud of you Yan. ((((Big Hug)))).
Everyone, you may leave your compliments right here or back at Yannick’s Blog - God’s Porch. Of course, if you need to contract his services you may contact him at his Blog.
Thanks again Yan, Panama Purple is fabulous!! And Marvia’s Panama Journal looks absolutely ‘purpl-iscious’
“wwooww”

Empress,
Thank you for your kind words.
As for the fresh statement..I’ve started working on the liturgy for your funeral!
* Yannick, this is my colleague and friend who was in Seminary with me. You have met on several occasions but perhaps your parents would better recall her.
Love you anyway Empress. You hardly speak, so I can tell you really liked it enough to say something

Its ironic you now have your own site as Friday night at the end of Believers’ wek your pastor Luke Shaw (i still consider you to be memeber of Linstead) spoke about the http://www.lbc.org. lol. well i guess technology can be a powerful tool in ministry. Congratulations Marvia now we will be able to view many more pics and entries such as you addressing the Panamanian cabinet about women’s rights and then we might neva know a wedding!

Dimario,
You sure know how to make me crack up!!
However, do you recall that at last year’s Believers’ Enrichment Services at Linstead I shared on the use of technology during one of my presentations. Shortly after that presentation, the Jamaica Christian Youth Network (our Google group) was born.
God is certainly speaking to Linstead and through Pastor Luke you may finally get the church website done. Looking forward to the day.
I cannot promise you the Panamanian parliament or even a wedding (you know you just sparked another post with that idea). However, a website for First Isthmian Baptist is definitely on the drawing board for 2007. Yannick!!!

LOL Marvia, one step at a time.
Empress: Thanks! And Mom and Dad say to tell you hello also. I must admit the name didn’t ring a bell, but Marvia did enlighten me. (Thanks Marvia). Hope all is well and God’s richest blessings on you.

Derri,
Girl the look and feel of the site gives you a nice ´sqwoogly woogly´feeling doesn´t it?? Friends, if you feel what those two words (?) are trying to convey then you know what Joyce, Derri and I feel.
In a world of so much hatred, war and violence it is a joy to find something that makes you feel warm inside. Its creator is to be lauded - for as in art, you cannot produce something that you do not already have inside.
Thanks Derri, my feelings are not so hurt anymore. You know some´mean people´laughed at me when I told them I just sat and stared at the site. It is just kind of compelling..
I think I´m going to take another stare right now:-)
You will see more of Yannick´s compelling work in the near future. Hear that Yan (hint hint).
Peace and Love,
Marvia
