Help Make Jamaica’s Athletes IAAF 2008 World Athletes Of The Year
Jamaica’s top male and female athletes are now contending for the IAAF 2008 World Athletes Of The Year Title. Please vote for them to be recognized as the male and female world athletes of the year. These young people deserve it. They were fantastic in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, to say the least.
The Flashing Usian “Lightening” Bolt
For male athlete of the year Usain Bolt is now in second position behind Irving Saladino of Colon, Panama. I wonder if you see my problem? I consider myself a honorary Colonense (resident of Colon). I applaud Saladino for his marvellous feat in the Long Jump. But. “I’m a born Jamaican. A daughter of the soil. Ah love the sea, a love the sun, Lawd a love dis lan. No matta where I go. Jamaica is my home. I love the coconut water..[I can't sing the rest!!]“. No. No. It won’t do.
So what I’m basically saying is, ssshhh..come closer. I can’t let my members hear this. You MUST vote for Usain Bolt for male athlete of year for 2008. Got that! Ok good. Now let’s turn to the women.
Veronica Campbell-Brown
In the women’s category, Veronica Campbell- Brown leads the female contenders. 400m gold medal hurdler Melaine Walker is in 3rd position. Incidentally, Melaine is from my Alma Mater St. Jago High School. Go St. Jago!! Yeaa.
