CCP Boosts Panama Sunday Schools

CCP Reaching Out To Central America

The training team of the Caribbean Christian Publication (CCP),  escaped the boat ride, grass lice, and such adventures. However, their hectic training schedule made their trip sufficiently exciting. The team first arrived on Tuesday March 20, 2007 in Panama City, from Jamaica,USA, and Belize. On Wednesday March 21, they left for San Andres, Columbia. They came back to Panama City on Friday March 23, and headed to Colon City for our training here on Saturday March 24. They then returned to Panama City Saturday night, to depart Sunday morning March 25 to Bocas del Torro. Finally, between Monday and Tuesday they returned to Panama City to head back home to Jamaica, Belize, and Miam,Florida.

Are you dizzy yet? As ground coordinator for Panama, I had motion sickness. They held up really well, therefore I say “nuff respect”; to a real Super CCP Team.

Revival Through Training Workshops
They did an amazing job at training local Sunday School Departments. The training was a practical hands on approach to educating, and empowering heads of Sunday School Departments, teachers and other department staff. This was a huge hit with the participants. Their feedback on the workshop spoke of how ‘revived’ they were; ready to return to their churches.

Commendations for Great Work
Training is just one aspect of the work of the Caribbean Christian Publications. They also publish Caribbean Bible Lessons (Sunday School lessons). The CCP also has <a title=”CCP Publications” href=”http://www.caribbeanchristianpublications.org/ccp_together.php”>several other publications including, Stewardship Program for the Local church Caribbean Baptist Brotherhood Manual.

The new Director of CCP, Mrs. Gillian Francis, skillfully manages this organization out of their Administrative Office in Kingston, Jamaica. Mrs. Francis and her able staff, join forces with several volunteers in writing student lessons, teacher lesson guides, providing editorial services and much more.

Promoting Christian Unity

Several denominations use the Caribbean Bible Lessons even though it is a Caribbean Baptist publication.  The list of users include:

The Methodist church in Jamaica
Church God in Christ
United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands
The Missionary church

This has led to an outstanding feature of the volunteer work done on this publication. The writers of the lessons are not all Baptists, but come from the various church groups that use the material. This is truly amazing collaboration and a witness to the unity of the church so badly needed in our world today. In San Andres, Colon city and Bocas del Torro the participants included Sunday School Workers from among the Baptists, Methodists, Church of God in Christ, Episcopalians, Pentecostals, Roman Catholics, and Seventh Day Adventists. Even if you read that line, again it will not change. Yes, you read right.

Therefore, I wish to commend the CCP team of trainers who came to share with us here in Panama
